But we couldn't do it without our volunteers, who are at the heart of local communities and help us raise awareness of vascular EDS.

Annabelle's Challenge is proud to receive The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

Our volunteer fundraisers are vital to our charity. Not only do they raise significant amounts of funds for Annabelle’s Challenge they also raise awareness of who we are and what we do for vascular EDS, helping us to reach more people who need us.


How will I be involved?

You'll help organise fundraising events in your local community, with family and friends or with other groups or work places. You can also get involved with coordinating fundraising collections for Annabelle’s Challenge.

  • Walks and bike rides
  • Christmas jumper days at work
  • Abseils
  • Wine tasting & food events
  • Skydiving
  • Cake baking

We're looking for enthusiastic fundraisers.


How much time do I need to volunteer?

It's up to you how much time you want to give. We will work with your fundraising event ideas with awareness leaflets, posters and promotion.

Become a champion

Our objective is to support everyone affected by vascular EDS who needs us and we need the help of our volunteers to help achieve this.


Representing the charity to schools, colleges, community organisations and corporate partners, you'll become a champion for Annabelle’s Challenge.


How will I be involved?

Champions support our charity in a number of ways:

  • In-store bag packing
  • Handing out leaflets
  • Coordinating collections
  • Giving presentations
  • Arrange local fundraising events


Champions also help by representing the charity by:

  • Giving talks at schools, colleges and medical centres
  • Presenting to local businesses 
  • Attending cheque presentations or local events
  • Seeking out fundraising opportunities.


What skills do I need?

We need you to have a good knowledge of your local area, communicate well and use initiative. Speakers need to be confident about speaking in public and to local business representatives and medical professionals.


How much time do I need to volunteer?

As much or as little as you can give.


Will I receive any training?

You will be provided with as much information and training required to carry out this role effectively.


Can I claim expenses?

Our champions can claim out of pocket expenses, for example travel to and from venues, parking etc.

Help out at events

We host events all year round to help raise awareness and funds, we need the help of volunteers to help make this possible.

  • Exhibitions & conferences

  • Outdoor & Indoor awareness events

  • Networking

If you can spare the odd hour or two, maybe an afternoon or early evening we would like to hear from you. We can add you to our ‘on-call’ list and with advance notice we will let you know our planned events.
