Annabelle's Challenge Achievement Awards

We are delighted to launch the annual Annabelle's Challenge Achievement Awards to reward and recognise individuals/groups for their outstanding achievements supporting the vEDS community.

At our Masquerade Ball held in May 2023 we announced two award categories; Fundraising Achievement and Community Champion

It was an honour for Jared Griffin, Founder & CEO and David Catterall DL, Chair & Trustee of Annabelle's Challenge to present the inaugural awards and The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service lapel badges to the proud recipients of this years ceremony.

Fundraising Achievement Award

Jason Brimson

Congratulations to Jason Brimson, proud recipient of the Annabelle's Challenge Fundraising Achievement Award 2023. Jason has raised over £25,000 for the charity over the past 6 years.
 
We also wanted to recognise the sheer level of activity Jason has embarked on to help raise awareness and funds including volunteering his time to support the charity.

Jason said: "I was very surprised, humbled and honoured to be awarded the inaugural Annabelle’s Challenge Fundraising Achievement Award at the Masquerade Ball last night.
 
Apparently we’ve now raised over £25,000 in the last 6 years!! A tremendous amount of money. Clearly this is a team effort and each and every one of you who has donated and supported our efforts in that time, this is as much for you as it is me. Thank you all for everything."

Community Champion Award

Bonnie Jackson

Congratulations to Bonnie Jackson, proud recipient of the Annabelle's Challenge Community Champion Award 2023. Bonnie has raised over £50,000 for the charity over the past 18 months!!
 
The work of your volunteering and fundraising is outstanding and is clearly bringing remarkable support for our vascular EDS community, particularly the amount you have raised including volunteering your time raising your charities’ profile.
 
On top of all the amazing fundraisings events and match funding from MUFG Bank we also wanted to recognise the following roles Bonnie is actively involved in:
- Trustee of Annabelle’s Challenge
- London Regional Coordinator
- Volunteering
- Advocacy
- VEDS mum to Mia
 
Bonnie said: "I am so very proud receive the Annabelle’s Challenge Community Champion Award 2023 with a Queens Award Voluntary Service Lapel badge. I will keep and treasure this letter forever, thank you Annabelle's Challenge.
 
Most importantly thank you so much to everyone that has helped us achieve the incredible; your endless support, volunteering and generous donations have made all of this possible. I know that our work is not only helping but changing peoples lives for the better.

Volunteer Achievement Award

Mia Boxall

Congratulations to Mia, proud recipient of the Annabelle's Challenge Volunteer Achievement Award 2023. Mia is the heart and inspiration behind 'MumsOnAMission' and the organiser of the Pawfect Dog Day held in Chislehurst raising over £1,500.

Mia, 8, was diagnosed with vascular EDS in September 2021 and supported by mum Bonnie together with her family, friends, colleagues and the local community have collectively raised over £50,000 over the past 18 months!

It was an honour for Jared Griffin, Founder & CEO and Mayor of Bromley Cllr Mike Botting to present Mia with
her award and The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service lapel badge with a letter of recognition signed by David Catterall DL, Chair & Trustee, Annabelle's Challenge.
