Annabelle's Challenge Member Survey

At the start of the UK lockdown we surveyed our members to better understand the impact of COVID-19 and what would be needed from the charity during the pandemic and post lockdown.

Concerns from our members included:
  • Catching COVID-19.
  • Needing to self isolate.
  • Feeling vulnerable and concerned about shielding.
  • Employment and income beyond furlough.
  • Loss of income.
  • Access to medical professionals.
  • Worries about post lockdown.
  • Anxiety.
  • Mental Health.
Actions taken by the charity included:
  • Increasing the freephone helpline to 7 days.
  • Patient Coordinator contacting members directly.
  • Online virtual support groups rolled out.
  • Regular updates from the EDS Service.
  • Conference postponed until 2022.
  • Dedicated COVID-19 information page. 
  • Volunteers deployed where needed.
  • CEO joins the Royal Voluntary Service.
  • Mental Health and financial advice support from July 2020.
