Sandy Cowan

The team at Annabelle’s Challenge are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our members, Sandy Cowan, who passed away peacefully with her husband Paul by her side on 7th October 2026, aged 60.

Sandy was diagnosed with vascular EDS in June 2016 and joined Annabelle’s Challenge just two months later.

Over the years, Sandy became a much-loved and valued member of our community. Her kindness, warmth and unwavering support for others living with vEDS touched the lives of so many. She embraced every opportunity to connect with the community, attending support group meetings, conferences and retreat weekends, where her friendship and positivity were greatly appreciated.

Sandy was also passionate about helping others and generously supported our VEDS Emergency Pack information video, helping to raise awareness and improve care in an emergency.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Sandy's husband Paul and their family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Sandy. Your kindness, friendship and dedication to the vEDS community will never be forgotten.
