VEDS Partner Relationships & Family Planning

VEDS- Partner Relationships & Family Planning

Exploring how living with Vascular EDS affects partner relationships and family planning.

Lead Researcher
Meet Angharad Cullinane, MSc Genetic and Genomic Counselling Student and Trainee Genetic Counsellor.

Angharad has an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Cardiff University. Following graduation, she worked for a biotechnology company based in Cardiff, specialising in allergy research, for five years while building experience to apply for the MSc programme at Cardiff University. While working in the laboratory, she was also volunteering for Shout UK, a 24/7 crisis text service for mental health support. In 2021, Angharad was successful in achieving a place on the MSc, and a training post in NHS Wales as a Trainee Genetic Counsellor. She is now in her third year of her studies and her training.

Angharad is looking to recruit around 10-15 adult (18+) participants who have a genetically confirmed diagnosis of vEDS for her research study.

Study Details
We are looking for adults (aged 18+) who have a genetic diagnosis of vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome to take part in an interview study that aims to explore how living with this condition affects partner relationships and family planning.

As a participant in this study, you would be asked to participate in an open-ended online interview of approximately 60 minutes. The interview will ask your thoughts and reflections on a series of questions around partner relationships. You do not have to be in a relationship to take part.

Please note recruitment is now closed.
