Lola-Grace Appeal

Help make a safe home for Lola-Grace

Do you have any household furniture, equipment, décor or appliances that you don’t want anymore? Or are you handy at decorating or gardening and have some time to spare?

Then you could make a huge difference to two-year-old Lola-Grace and her mum Hayley and two siblings. They’re about to move into a new home in Shoreham By Sea – but it’s not safe for Lola-Grace to live in.

Lola-Grace suffers from Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vascular EDS). It is a rare genetic condition which causes collagen deficiency and means Lola-Grace is at daily risk of her internal organs and arteries spontaneously rupturing.

She also suffers from other health problems Including Bilateral Talipes, Absent Seizures, scarring on the left side brain and amniotic banding on her toe and a finger.

Because of her medical conditions, Lola-Grace’s environment needs to be made safe so there’s no risk of her hurting herself.

But the family’s new home is completely unfurnished with no carpets throughout and in need of decorating. The garden is not level and without fence panels, making it hazardous. Can you help this family?

Any unused furniture, appliances, or anything you think would help make a house into a home would be gratefully received. If you’d like to donate, or help in any way, please get in touch with us!

Update on the appeal:

Do you have any carpets that you don’t want anymore? Or any underlay of roll-ends we could use or maybe a donation towards carpets?

The family have now moved into the house in Shoreham By Sea following work to install a new kitchen by Adur District Council which is great news, however the house is completely unfurnished with no carpets throughout

Thanks to the generosity of the Shoreham community, local councillors, Tim Loughton MP and some of our members we have managed to secure several household items and cash donations. A special thank you also to Sue Smith and the team at Co-Op Ham Road Shoreham for donating a brand-new fridge freezer.

If you’d like to donate, or help in any way, especially regarding carpets please get in touch with us on freephone 0800 917 8495.
